Dave Burr

Coach Burr is a USA Hockey Level 4 Certified Coach and is the current Head Coach of the Notre Dame-Fairfield Varsity Hockey team. Coach Burr has over 21 years’ experience as an Assistant and Head Coach at the 8U, 10U-16U levels for such organizations as Southern CT Youth Hockey, Wonderland Wizards and Connecticut Cobras AAA Programs. In recent years, Coach Burr has taken his teams to 9 Finals appearances winning 5 Championships. Coach Burr has put together a structured curriculum over the years that has a balanced approach to individual skillset development and systems.

Coach Burr played Varsity High School Hockey at Notre Dame of Fairfield from 1987 to 1990 where was a member and Co-Captain of the 1989 Division II State Championship team earning such honors as MVP of the 1989 State Tournament, 1st Team All-Tournament, the 1st NDF hockey player to be named CIAC All State and the 1st to be inducted into NDF’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996. He played Varsity College Hockey for Southern Connecticut State University where he championed the 1994 team to its first American Collegiate Hockey Association championship.

Brendan Kapteina

Brendan is from Stamford, CT and grew up playing Stamford Youth Hockey. He played his high school career at Fairfield Prep where he held the title of Assistant Captain his senior year and helped lead the team to a State Championship. He played an additional few years of Junior Hockey with the Boston Bulldogs. Brendan has over 20 years coaching experience, previously coaching for Mid-Fairfield (Mite through Peewee level) and Greenwich High School. The 2024/25 season will be his first year coaching in the RiverHawks organization.

Daniel Miressi

Daniel grew up in Monroe, CT and graduated from Trumbull High School in 2007 where he was a four-year letterman in Varsity Hockey.

Following an accomplished High School hockey career, Daniel went on to Framingham State University where he majored in History with a minor in Education. He was a member and instrumental leader of the Framingham State Rams Men’s Ice Hockey Team (NCAA Division III), where he was a three-time All American Hockey Player, a three-time All Conference (MASCAC) Hockey Player, an NCAA All Academic recipient, and named the 2010 NCAA Division III Rookie of the Year Award.

Daniel went on to play professionally in the minor-leagues with stints in the East Coast Hockey League, the Southern Professional Hockey League, and the Federal Prospects Hockey League.

2023-24 will be the first season for Daniel coaching a RiverHawk Team!
